Summary: I love this hotel! What a great discovery for staying in and around the theater district and restaurant row. It is TINY at the entrance so look for the Backstage Tavern which is adjacent and attached to the hotel. The lobby isnt really a lobby it is just a very narrow hall with a desk at the end of it next to the elevator. We checked in with ease and were upgraded to the largest room I have ever stayed in in NYC! 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a living room AND a private terrace! Wow! Bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was gigantic and very clean! They lose one star because when we checked in we were told the hotel could offer a late check out if we needed it. My fiance had an follow up appt Monday morning with his surgeon at HSS and we didnt know if we would need a little more time (asked for an extra hour). We were denied that request but in truth we only stayed one night and did not use the other half of the room and barely used the living space so I think they could have afforded time to allow this. However any time we go to see a show in midtown we will be staying at this lovely hotel. Breakfast (continental) is also included from 8am to 10am which was nice. The cost of this stay was only 200 with taxes and fees! Incredible for NYC!

Summary: I booked Hotel Scherman for our mother/ daughter NYC trip. Its location to theaters and Times Square was perfect for us. Quick walk to shows, delicious restaurants, subway stations without hearing the noise of TS from our hotel room. This boutique hotel is really a little gem in NYC! The hotel staff is very kind and they upgraded our room as a treat upon our arrival. I was so pleased and felt very safe here. 100% will be staying here on our return trips. *pic from our 3rd floor balcony

Summary: We loved everything about this cozy hotel. Since we had two teenagers traveling with us, we booked a 2BR suite. It was so convenient to have two bathrooms, and the common sitting area in our suite was useful as well. We didn't have much of a chance to use the balcony or the roof top seating area but both were lovely with comfortable seating. The location of the hotel is perfect for us, and the continental breakfast was truly delightful. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, and we will absolutely return. Even our teens were impressed!

Summary: Lovely hotel, lovely room, great location, loads of delicious restaurants nearby. The sushi restaurant opposite is very expensive, but some of the best sushi I’ve ever eaten! Useful that there’s a sink on a coffee machine, a fridge and a hot plate with some basic utensils and crockery. However, the hotel also offers breakfast, which was included in my rate. I had to check out very early, so they kindly are giving me a 6 am takeaway breakfast.

Summary: The Hotel Scherman was amazing, and made our trip for my son’s birthday so special. The location is amazing, so close to the show we were in NYC to see, but also felt like a peaceful retreat when we wanted some downtime. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, and we absolutely loved the balcony and rooftop terrace.

Summary: This was our first visit to Hotel Scherman and we were very pleased. We’ve stayed at several other NYC hotels over the years but this one is a keeper! Check-in was fast and easy. We did not need parking. It was a close walk from 34th St train station. Hotel location was perfect and close to everything we wanted to see! Restaurants are steps away. The hotel was clean and the room was adequate size to accommodate 2 people. The bed was comfortable and we heard no outside noise. We had a small kitchenette that met our needs. You would need to bring your own frying pan if cooking on the electric stove top. They had a single use Keurig with a variety of k-cups and creamer and sugar. Our favorite part was the rooftop terrace and the inside connection to the Backstage Tavern. Elevator worked fine and quick. We had no issues with any part of our stay and are looking forward to a return this year!
